The music and the image
The music can’t be separated from the image. Has anyone forgotten Michael Jackson’s zombies, Madonna’s corsés or the delirious Björk? Musiclip hasn’t! Because of this, Activa Films has organized The Musiclip, International Video Music Festival 2008 in Barcelona. This Festival has a program full of projects, conferences, concerts… everything around and related to: music videos.
The music video was born almost by accident, but it becomes the business card and image of groups and singers. Now, after more than 30 year of exists, it continues to evolve, becoming an experimental reference of the audiovisual sector and a necessity for the launch of new singers worldwide.
It’s the time to dedicate a place of honor to the world of music videos.

The most important component is Ideas
Musiclip gives awards for music videos that promote the development of the genre of video as an artistic expression and explore as much as possible this compact format of art. The innovation, the originality and the quality of the works, as in the format or editing, are determining factors in a competition which does not consider how much money was spent or the acknowledgement of known artists. All music videos compete on the same level, regardless of who the director is or how much money is behind the production.
Awards
-The Best Music clip 08: for the best music video of the season.
-The Best Music clip of Animation 08: the array of creative possibilities from this technique that is still be evolving, justify this award.
-The Best Catalan Music clip 08: the best Catalan Language production.
Besides the awards, the festival gives the public who attend the screenings the chance to vote for their favorite videos. Activa Films reserves the right to give a special award for a music video selected for the festival:
-Public Award 08: the public select the favorite music video from the videos screened
-Special Mention Musiclip 08: award which is given according from criterions of the organization.
Jury
The festival jury is composed of professionals with known work in the music and audiovisual sector, a jury of five members will include representatives and specialists in the different areas:
- 1 musical critic and moviemaker
- 1 music video producer
- 1 music producer or a representative of a CD recording studio
- 1 teacher qualified in production and making of music videos
- 1 host of a music channel
The jury will select the winners for each categories, except for The Public Award, which is chosen by the public who watched the projections, and The Special Mention Musiclip 08, award that is given by the organization of the festival.
