MUSICLIP COLABORATES WITH FAV
• Festival Argentino Videoclip took place from 28-30th November
• Music videos from Musiclip’s 2nd Edition were shown in FAV’s programme.
FAV, the Argentine Videoclip Festival, took place from 28 to 30 of November, and Musiclip participated in it. Musiclip is already preparing its third edition but it is now collaborating with other international festivals related to the world of music videos exchanging contents.
During three days FAV was screening the music videos awarded in the 2nd edition of Musiclip Festival 08 each afternoon. FAV was also projecting music videos from other festivals: The FENACLIP (National Videoclip Festival from Chile) and the FIVA (International Videoclip Festival from Alcañiz - Spain).
If you want your music videos to be projected internationally in FENACLIP (Chile), FAV (Argentina), CERO LATITUD (Ecuador) and PREMIOS LUCAS (Cuba), you can now send your music videos to Musiclip international video music contest before 20th of February, and participate in this third edition of Musiclip, International Videoclip Festival from Barcelona. MUSICLIP FESTIVAL ‘09
Musiclip participa en VIDEOLIFE de León como miembro del jurado
• Los Videoclips de Blockhead y de The Pinker Tones fueron los ganadores
Durante la semana pasada, del 24 al 27 de septiembre, tuvo lugar VIDEOLIFE, el Festival del Videoclip de León, donde 18 videoclips finalistas fueron valorados y juzgados por el publico y un jurado especializado en el mundo del audiovisual.
La directora de Activa films, Carmen Sanfrancisco, responsable del Musiclip, Festival Internacional del Videoclip de Barcelona, estuvo presente en el festival durante este fin de semana para participar como jurado y asistir a la proyección de los videoclips en el MUSAC. Según la directora de Musiclip Festival “es muy importante dar apoyo a todos los festivales, para reactivar la industria del videoclip y hacer crecer el festival a nivel internacional”.
El premio del jurado fue para Joan Guasch, director del videoclip “The art of walking” de la banda Blockhead, mientras que el premio del público fue otorgado a Ana Lorenzo y Celia Galán, directoras del clip “Fugaz” del grupo The Pinker Tones. Este premio fue votado por los asistentes a la proyección del sábado en el MUSAC y los votos emitidos por internet durante toda la semana.

Musiclip Festival from Barcelona in association with Indie•Pendent
Bcn Week&Scanner Fm organize for the first time Indie•Pendent battles. The objective of the event is to promote to a professional scope those independent groups, who don’t have yet a record label contract and whose residence is Catalonia, Spain.
That is why, from 24th May until 14th June will be held competitions in Sala Monasterio in Barcelona, in which different bands will compete in a live show for 30 minutes trying to be the best group of the night to be able to attend the final competition. The jury will be composed by the Indie•Pendent audience, and will be responsible with his vote to confirm the winners of Indie•Pendent next 3rd June in Sala Apolo.
Finally, up to 13 bands have been selected to apply for the prize given by Indie•Pendent, consisted in:
- A video music shooting by Activa Films, organizer of Musiclip Festival Internacional del Videoclip de Barcelona.
- Recording in a professional Studio courtesy of La Fi del Món Studio.
- Part of the money collected by the Indie•Pendent tickets.

THE REGISTRATION TO ATTEND MUSICLIP ROUNDTABLE IS NOW OPEN
Barcelona. March 6, 2008
- On April 1st, Musiclip Festival will host a roundtable to tackle the state of the music video in the Spanish context at SGAE (Sociedad General de Autores y Editores).
The professionals, all of whom are involved in audiovisuals, will discuss and offer their opinions on subjects such as: budget, team, tools, promotion, and distribution. In short, the discussion will take into account everything that affects the quality of the music video as well as its role as a presentation of performers whom the clip represents.
Registration to attend the roundtable is free and open to all those interested in knowing the current state of music videos in Spain. To request the application, interested parties must register with their full name, telephone and DNI/Passport at inscripciones@musiclipfestival.com. There is a limited capacity. Only those who have received a confirmation by Musiclip team can attend.

Roundtable Speakers already confirmed:-Bruno Sokolovicz: Presenter of music Canal 33 TV programme Sputnik and in charge of ScannerFM. -Dimas Rodríguez: Scriptwriter since the beginning of the cultural TV programme Silenci?, also collaborates as writer for magazines such as Rockdelux, Butxaca, Edición Limitada and Lecool. He also is former band member of La banda Municipal del Polo Norte. -Ramón Millà: producer and reporter for TV3 since the channel’s the early years. Currently produces Sputnik and Territoris, a TV program about the audiovisual world. He is also a lecturer at Universidad Ramón Llull, Facultat de Comunicación Blanquerna in Barcelona. ON 15 MARCH END THE SING-UPS FOR MUSICLIP FESTIVAL

The 15th of March is the deadline to sign-up for the Musiclip, International Video Music Festival, that will take place from 1st – 6th April. Organized by the production company Activa Films, the festival is dedicated exclusively to music videos and displays, through its international competition, the best creations of 2007. The competition aims to help contribute to the development of this pioneering and compact format of art. At this point, we have already received music videos from various countries including Germany, England, the United States, Italy and the Czech Republic.
The festival is packed with music video cult activities. There will be music video screenings organized according to contest categories, and each day ends with live music shows. The programme is completed by a round table and a seminar about music video’s current situation, the possibilities for it as an artistic expression and its potential as a tool of mass communication.
Screenings of the selected music videos are organized in the following categories: 1)pop/rock, 2)world rhythms, 3)hip-hop/soul/funk and 4)singer/songwriter music. The videos will be judged on innovation and creativity – the IDEAS – all videos compete on the same level, regardless of production costs or director. Best videos will be awarded the prize of The Best Music clip 08, The Best Music clip of Animation 08, The Best Catalan Language Music clip 08, Public Award 08, selected by the screenings’ audience, and Special Mention Musiclip 08, which is given according to criteria of the festival organization.

Sign-ups for the contest are open now, until March 15, 2008. On the main page you can find the application form to submit music videos that you want to be part of this year’s festival.
Currently, more than fifty bands, night clubs and music and video-music lovers have already enrolled at our Myspace universe. You can join us at www.myspace.com/musiclip, where you can find bands like Bloc Party, Madonna or Serj Tankian as well as festivals such as the Wintercase.

THE SIGN-UPS FOR THE 2008 MUSICLIP COMPETITION ARE NOW OPEN

The festival totally dedicated to music videos is back for the second year to award the best videos of the last year and contribute to develop this pioneering and compact Art format.
Organized by the production company Activa Films, the festival it is open to all pieces produced during 2007. The selected music videos will be screened during Musiclip Festival Internacional del Videoclip 2008, that will take place in Barcelona, from 1st - 6th of April.
